One of the top Touring Artists ex Vocalist of Judas Priest Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, a Rock & Metal legend who has toured with major Rock bands like Brainicide, Iced Earth, Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Charred Walls of the Damned, The Three Tremors, Spirits of Fire, Dio Disciples & KK’s Priest with sold out shows. Owens has also recorded music and wrote the lyrics with guitarist Marzi Montazeri for the heavy metal horror film “Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre”. His life has been the inspiration of the movie “Rockstar” starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. The New York Times in an article calls Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens the “Metal Head who became a Metal God”.
Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens is a Grammy nominated American Metal Rock singer born on September 13, 1967. Owens made headlines in 1996 when he went from being a fan of the English heavy metal band Judas Priest to being their lead singer, replacing Rob Halford. He took the nickname “Ripper” from the Judas Priest song “The Ripper” during his time in the tribute band British Steel. Despite numerous rumors that Halford would reunite with Priest, Owens recorded two studio albums with his childhood heroes, as well as two live albums and a 2002 DVD release. Owens also helped write one Judas Priest song, “What’s My Name?”, which was a bonus track on Demolition. With Judas Priest (1996-2003), he was nominated once for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1999, with the song “Bullet Train” from the album Jugulator, but lost to Metallica’s “Better than You”. In 2020 Owens was announced as the frontman for the band KK’s Priest, which also features former Judas Priest members KK Downing and Les Binks.
Tim has also started a super group called Project Rock w/ James Kottak (Scorpions), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper, Slash’s Snakepit, John Waite) Rudy Sarzo (Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio), Teddy Zig Zag Guns N’ Roses, Carol King ). He also sings with Dio Disciples, which is a band celebrating the music of Ronnie James Dio with Ronnie’s band mates and friends.Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens is without a doubt among the most important metal vocalists of the past ten years. His last release with KK’s Priest – Sermons of the Sinner in 2021 and his own video release is Ripper – Embattled. This will be his first tour to India.
